Establishment

The Iraqi Centre for International Arbitration was established in 2016 as an independent, non-governmental institution to serve as a national and international reference for resolving commercial and investment disputes through alternative means. The Centre brings together a distinguished panel of arbitrators and legal experts from Iraq and around the world, applying the latest international rules and standards with full impartiality and transparency.

To be the leading centre in the Middle East for international commercial arbitration and mediation, and to contribute to a safe and fair investment environment in Iraq through efficient and swift dispute resolution.

Objectives

  • Promote the culture of arbitration and mediation as alternative dispute-resolution methods
  • Administer arbitration cases to the highest international standards
  • Train and qualify national cadres of accredited arbitrators and mediators
  • Build partnerships with peer international centres and institutions
  • Provide specialised legal consultancy in arbitration
  • Organise specialised conferences and training workshops
